A Cicero company has been fined by the Occupational Safety and Health Adminsitration for at least 13 safety violations.
EJ USA Inc. has been fined 56 thousand dollars and they have 15 days to respond to OSHA.
OSHA says the violations put employees at risk at the metal hatch manufacturer. OSHA says the company failed to implement a hearing protection program, prevent overexposure to metal fumes and failed to properly store flammable liquids, among the accusations.
OSHA says the conditions placed the employees at risk of burns, electric shock, being caught in machinery and hearing loss.
The government safety agency says EJ USA has corrected some of the problems, but has two weeks to comply and respond.
