(570 WSYR) - Tom Dadey, chairman of the Onondaga County Republican party , announced on Monday that it does not have a candidate to run on the republican ticket for Mayor of Syracuse.
As the party searched for a candidate, Tom Dadey had used his name for a place holder on the November ballot, which he removed after buying a home just outside of city limits. Dadey's name was replaced by Syracuse lawyer Kevin Kuehner, who says he is not running for mayor.
Last week a judge ruled against a Democratic Party challenge to the GOP's "place holding" strategy and allowed Republicans to hold the line on the ballot. After the judge's ruling, Dadey said it looked doubtful that a republican candidate would be named to challenge Democratic Mayor Stephanie Miner.
