Drama after a bank robbery in downtown Syracuse late Thursday morning.
Syracuse Police say the Chase Bank on West Fayette Street was robbed by a suspect who handed the teller a note and demanded money. The suspect then ran off.
A short time later though, police got a call about a man trapped in a garbage chute on Clinton Street about a mile from the robbery.
It turns out the bank robbery suspect was trapped inside the chute in an attempt to hide and police say his physial condition was not good.
The police and the fire department worked to get him out of the chute, which took about an hour.
The suspect was then rushed to a Syracuse hospital, and there's no word yet on his identity, but he's believed to be in his mid 20's, and was caught on bank surveillance video.
No one was hurt inside the bank during the robbery.
