Syracuse, NYŻOn September 12, 2013 Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) will host its 4th Annual Recovery Walk/Run. The event, held during National Recovery Month, brings together people from across Central New York to raise awareness on behavioral health issues and celebrate recovery. The walk will take place at Longbranch Park in Liverpool where SBH will be joined by local supporters, government and community partners as well as families of those in recovery. This event is expected to attract more than 400 people.
The event brings the community together to celebrate the success of thousands of people who have embraced a life of recovery. It also serves as an opportunity to educate the public about treatment options. This year’s walk/run begins at 5:30PM and refreshments will be provided to those who register. This event is sponsored by twenty local businesses. For a complete list of sponsors visit www.sbh.org.
“Substance use disorders affect people from every walk of life and we welcome anyone who is interested in coming together to celebrate recovery,” said SBH President and CEO Jeremy Klemanski. “There are a lot of people frustrated by the negative impact of substance use disorders and mental health in our community. This event gives them an opportunity to connect with people who are doing something about that”
Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare provides a complete continuum of care for people living with substance use disorders and an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. SBH offers inpatient detox, outpatient counseling, community residences, supportive living apartments, permanent housing. Our mental health clinic offers individual and group therapy.
