Dear Santa,

A couple of the other pups here at the rescue said that you know everyone! This made me very happy, because I was thinking you probably wouldn’t know me. I’m only one-year-old and I don’t have a chimney for you to come down . . . . or even a home for that matter. And all I really want is a family of my own.

People seem to like me. They smile when they see me grin. I have this winning smile that I keep hoping the right family won’t be able to resist. Just today, one of my best friends at Helping Hounds found her forever person. It made me smile to see her be held and hugged. Her new dad called her his baby. I think I’m still a baby . . . . right, Santa? One-year-old is still a baby. Even a 51 pound one-year-old. Maybe if you read my letter, you will know the right person to send to Helping Hounds to meet me and see me and call me their baby, too.

The people that take care of me at the rescue understand me. They know that bigger dogs scare me a little and they give me time to snuggle and love me. It makes me feel better to be near people, especially adults. I’m not sure if I’d like to share my new home with a little dog, but I know for sure that bigger dogs make me nervous. But you probably already know this since you’re Santa and you know everything.

You probably also know that I am very well behaved and take walks very well on a leash, too. When I hear my name, I always listen and I know what “sit” means. Most of all, I love attention and feeling loved. I have a lifetime of love to give, so I’m really hoping you can help me find someone that really loves me back! Because when I find my forever home, my smile will never leave my face. Thank you, Santa.

Love,

Abby Jean
