City Of Syracuse Will Get 5G Communication Service After Council Vote

City of Syracuse residents can expect 5G communication services after the Common Council voted in favor of the project.

The service will provided faster cell and data service once the transmitters are put into service. The transmitters, which will be installed by Verizon, will need to be placed every block or so in order for the service to run smoothly. The vote also gives the city a larger voice and some oversight in the project.

There is currently no time frame when the service will be up and running as the process will now move to the permitting stage. In any event, the city is closer to 5G with the Council’s vote!
