Music: Not Impossible Allows Deaf People To Experience Music!

People who have little or no hearing account for 5% of the world’s population. This is according to the World Heath Organization. While the rest of us enjoy our favorite music and musical artists, deaf people can’t enjoy the sound of music. However, new technology may now allow them to “feel” the music they cannot actually hear!

Avnet, with the help of Not Impossible Labs, has come up with a way for deaf people to “experience” music. Music: Not Impossible is equipment that uses Vibrotextile technology which allows an individual to “feel” the music. Vibrations are sent through a person’s body through a harness, wristbands, and ankle bands.

This surround body experience allows deaf individuals to feel the music and, hopefully, gets them to feel like dancing! This is great news for those who hearing impaired people who have always wanted to attend a concert.
