July's Weather Is In The Books. How Did It Compare With Past July's?

As we turn the page to August, let’s look at how July’s weather turned out. If you thought July was warmer than usual, you were right! According to Newschannel 9’s Storm Team, July was tied for the ninth warmest on record. The temperature was 3.4 degrees above normal. Official records date back to 1902.

Here are some other tidbits:

•There were 8 days where the temperature hit 90 degrees or better. The average is 4 days;

•There were 28 days were the temperature hit 80 degrees or better. It is the 5th most 80 degrees ever in July;

•Rainfall was below normal as 3.4 inches of rain fell in our area. That’s a third below normal;

•Interestingly enough, 3 of those inches fell in just three days!

So there you have it. July is in the books. Let’s see how August treats us!
