A Look At A Few Haunted Places In Central New York For Halloween

With Halloween a few days away, I thought it would be appropriate to look at a few haunted places that sit right in our back yard! These places have supposedly been haunted by ghosts that have been seen by people across Central New York. So let’s have a look!

1. The Landmark Theater: A female ghost named Claire (Clarissa?) haunts the theater. She supposedly committed suicide by jumping off the balcony.

2. 13 Curves: A road in Marcellus when a female ghost walks. She was reportedly killed on her wedding night. Sometimes she carries a lantern. Sometimes she is in a blood-stained dress.

3. Split Rock Quarry: Site of the munitions explosion in 1918 where many workers lost their lives. Voices, footsteps, and the sound of the engine which ran the crusher are reportedly heard. The crusher engine, however, hasn't run since that fateful night in 1918.

4. Oakwood Cemetery: The cemetery near Syracuse University is reportedly haunted by strange lights, and ghosts. It is a favorite site of ghost hunters.

These are a few of the more famous sites in Central New York. Visit them only if you dare to on Halloween!
