To Prevent Falling On Ice, Take A Tip From A Penquin!

Christmas is over and the New Year is just a few days away. After that, the holidays will be over, but winter will still remain! At least for a few more months! And despite the fact that the weather has been devoid of much snow in recent weeks, we know that it will soon find us!

With snow comes ice, and with ice comes slips and falls that can be particularly hazardous for your body. So with that in mind, what is the best way to avoid a fall? Well take a tip from a penguin! In other words, do the penguin walk! Here’s how:

•Keep you weight forward and on your front foot.

•Keep your arms out by your side to help balance yourself.

•Walk flat-footed with short shuffling steps.

•Wear winter foot wear that provide traction.

•Bend your knees slightly.

•If possible, walk on grass or snow.

While you can never totally prevent a fall, walking like a penguin on ice will help minimize the chances of one!
