The new season of “The Bachelor” kicks off tonight on ABC and Sean Lowe called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to chat about the new season and comments on Emily Maynard and Jef Holm ending their engagement.
On Jef and Emily:
“I know Emily pretty well obviously and Jef is a buddy of mine. I honestly hope that is works out for them, because I know they are both good people. I don’t know what happened. I’m sorry that it ended the way that it did, but I wish nothing but the best for both of them,” Sean told us.
Would Sean Have Married Emily?
“In the moment I thought I would have, but obviously that didn’t work out. I think she made the best decision for both her and myself, but I was fully prepared to marry her and be a father to her daughter.” So was he worried about coming on the show again? “I was, because I had just gotten over that heartbreak. I know a lot of people are cynical and they think there is no way you could fall in love on a TV show, but you can, and I did. I had to ask myself can I put myself through that again? At the end of the day I felt like I owed it to myself to give it one more try.”
Is Sean Nervous For The Season Premiere?
“Yes. I’ve been anticipating this night. So, I hope America loves it tonight.”
Did He See His Wife The First Night of Taping?
“I was very hopeful. Of course I didn’t know if my wife was in there, but that first night I was surprised at how many smart, funny, intellectual girls there were and I was very happy with the 25 women that were there,” Sean tells us.
Did Sean Think Any of the Girls Were Nuts?
“Yeah. It’s ‘The Bachelor.’ So, you know you are going to get some chicks that are a little nuts.” How did Sean weed out the crazy ones? “Some are much more apparent than others. On the first night you’re going to see some crazy ones show up right away. Eventually you’re going to see their true colors and with some girls it takes a few weeks to really get to know who they are. But some girls show it right away, which you are going to get to see tonight.” One girl even shows up in a wedding dress! “My first thought was, ‘oh crap, I gotta get out of here, this chick is freaking me out.”
The new season of “The Bachelor” premieres tonight at 8/7c on ABC.
