Emerson College in Boston, MA, put on a pretty interesting event that dedicated their entire School of Communications to none other than the classiest broadcaster to ever hit the airwaves in San Diego, Ron Burgundy.
The ceremony included a Dedication with award, a speech and Q & A with Ron and the audience, and a sneak-peak viewing of Anchorman 2. It was definitely an un-heard of event anywhere else!
Our team ended up sending someone out to go and cover this, and he ended up getting a front row seat and some awesome, first-hand photos for us to show you. If you click on the picture below, you can live the action for yourself!
If you're for some reason, viewing this blog post today from Boston, and you're excited for the new Anchorman 2 movie to come out, you're a pretty lucky person.
Emerson College is holding an event called "Ron Burgundy Day" that sounds pretty cool. Will Ferrell will actually be present, fully in character as Ron Burgundy.
The College will re-name its Communication School to "The Ron Burgundy School Of Communication" for the day. Burgundy will deliver a speech to a bunch of excited Emerson Students, take part in the dedication ceremony and other fun events, and also introduce a sneak-peak screening of Anchorman 2 to the audience.
My buddy in Boston might be checking this out if they accept his press credential ;)
Also recently, Burgundy actually went on air on a North Dakota news station, and COMPLETED AN ENTIRE REAL BROADCAST! You can see it below.
It's still going to take quite a few years before this is ever approved, but wow, I am amazed more and more everyday with the cool new ideas that Amazon makes a reality.
The program is called Amazon Prime, and it's essentially an un-manned Drone that can deliver items ordered on Amazon in as little as 30 MINUTES!
“I think this looks like science fiction, but it’s not. … We can do half-hour delivery and carry objects we think up to five pounds, which covers 86% of the items we deliver.” said CEO Jeff Bezos in a recent interview.
While this is exciting news, it's unfortunately going to be a few years before this actually takes effect, due to a bunch of new rules and quirks that have to be figured out with the Federal Aviation Administration. However, Bezos quotes it's "Only A Matter Of Years" before you'll see this starting to take effect.
Watch the video below to view a recent test delivery using the new Drone system!
TMZ (of course) has obtained security cam footage that captures the moment of the crash and fiery aftermath that claimed the life of Paul Walker. There's no official word about the cause (it has been determined that the car was traveling well above the posted speed limit), but sources within the shop owned by the driver, Roger Rodas, speculate that a leak may be responsible.
I spent a lot of time on Sunday examining the whole situation with Paul Walker. As soon as the news broke Saturday night, I was one of the first to break the news to you on my blog. It's truly a sad story that is going to feel raw in a lot of his dear fans hearts for some time to come.
I found a lot of great videos on YouTube, made by die-hard fans of Walker, that remember some of the best moments in his career. I've posted them below for you to watch. I highly recommend that you check them out and and remember the good times in Paul's career, and not what happened Saturday in that awful explosion.
RIP Paul. We all love you!
