Christina Aguilera is opening up about her struggles with weight and the pressure she was under from her label to stay super slim. She told Billboard Magazine that during the promotion of here 2002 album "Stripped" (quote) "I got tired of being a skinny white girl. I'm Ecuadorian but my label passed me off as a skinnt, blue-eyed white girl".
A few months later, after going on tour and gaining 15 pounds, she claimed that her bosses flipped out. She said, "They called an emergency meeting about the backlash involving my weight. They told me no one would buy my records or come to my shows if I was heavy, and that would impact the livlihood of hundreds of people. I was so young, I didn;t know how to stand up to them".
In fact, it wasn't until she was at work on her upcoming cd that she told off her label executives saying (quote) "Look, you're working with a FAT GIRL. Know it now and get over it. I don't belong to them. It's my body".
A source at her lable says they've always been more concerned about her drinking than her weight. Friday night, that was the case after a party at Spago to celebrate the video for her new single. When she left, she required the help of two men, her boyfriend and her bodyguard to make it to her chauffered limo.
