News of this split is coming weeks after Mayer was very candid in an interview about his new relationship.

“I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship. For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship. I’m glad. I know what you’re saying. I’m not denying it. I’m saying it feels like something that’s very human,” he said.

Perry is currently working on her next album, and Mayer is prepping for his upcoming tour.
