Meet Badass Chick Anne Hjelle. In 2004, she was mountain biking with some friends when a mountain lion came out of nowhere and attacked her face. She received over 200 stitches and staples and has permanent skin damage, but is still drop-dead gorgeous on both the inside and out. She survived her attack because she was wearing a helmet and because her friends pulled the mountain line off of her (that's Badass too!). Two weeks later, this Badass Chick got back up on her feet and started walking the same trail where she was attacked, just so that she could look fear in the face and conquer it. Since then, she has written a book about her experience and hosts public speaking engagements, emphasizing how having a positive mindset can truly get you through anything. In her spare time, she raises money to buy underprivileged children bicycles. And, as a side note: she served in the Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic. Anne is a Badass Chick! Learn more about her and her book here.
