Jason Derulo is making it official with Jordin Sparks in his new track “Marry Me.”
The 23-year-old singer stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest, along with his beautiful girlfriend, to chat about the new single and his upcoming album Tattoos.
“I found a very special lady,” Jason gushes. “And this song is talking about how amazing that moment will be when I finally do get down on one knee and propose.”
And considering he’s talking about one day popping the question, we had to ask, how does Jordin feel about the song?!
“I was actually pretty speechless [when I heard it],” Jordin admits. “He wrote it about a year and a half ago, so it was still pretty early in our relationship. But he played it in the car and I just kind of like froze because it was so pretty. It’s just so beautiful he writes from life experiences.”
So did it freak her out a little bit given he wrote it early on in their relationship? “Not so much frightened as much as I was like surprised because I wasn’t expecting it, but I was stuck before he played the song for me,” the American Idol alum shares. “I was already madly in love with him.”
The song is just one of the many on Jason’s upcoming album Tattoos. But before it comes out, he shares he’ll be releasing an EP on September 24, which will consist of five songs, including a collaboration with Jordin and his hit single with 2 Chainz, “Dirty Talk.”
“Then a couple months later off the third single we’ll release the album,” he adds.
So why did the ink lover name his third studio album Tattoos?
“Tattoos are art that stays with us for the rest of our lives as is our life experiences,” Jason explains. “So the happy ones we want to show the world. The dope tattoos we’re like, ‘Check this out.’ Those have an effect on us and also those that we regret getting that we don’t want to show anybody are much like the songs on the album — they’re my life experiences.”
